Once upon a time. In a big, pink plain that was full of paper flowers, a little kangaroo named “Hana” lived. Hana had very long legs, and with every hop, it was as if she wanted to reach the cottony clouds. She always had a smile on her lips and, happily, she would hop and skip among the flowers.
Hana had a magical, beautiful pouch in front of her belly. This pouch was not ordinary; it was the “Kindness Pouch.” Inside this pouch was full of sparkling stars, colorful ribbons, and sugary cookies that smelled like strawberries. Every day, Hana filled this pouch with good things so she could give gifts to her friends.
One morning, Hana was hopping when she heard a gentle sound. She saw her friend “Gili.” Gili was a tiny white rabbit who was sitting under a jasmine bush. Gili looked a little sad and had let her long ears droop down. She had lost the pretty ribbon that she always tied to her ear.
With one big hop, Hana reached Gili. Kindly, she said: “Don’t be upset, my friend! I have something in my pouch that will make you happy.” Hana put her hand into her magical pouch and pulled out a shiny, silky pink ribbon. Carefully, she tied the ribbon onto Gili’s ear.
When Gili saw herself in a little pond, she shouted with happiness. She and Hana held hands and started dancing among the flowers. Lady Sun, too, smiled at them from behind the pink clouds and gave the plain her gentle warmth. Everywhere was full of joy and friendship.
Hana continued on her way until she reached the weeping willow tree. There, she saw a little bird named “Parya.” Parya was flapping her wings, but she was tired. She wanted to gather soft straw for her nest so her chicks would have a warm place, but finding it was hard.
Hana again put her hand into her Kindness Pouch. She took out some soft, rainbow-colored wool that she had gathered from dream-clouds. Hana gave the wool to Parya and said: “Here you go, dear Parya! These will make your nest the softest place in the world.” Parya chirped happily.
Parya took the colorful wool in her beak and flew toward her nest. Hana waved to her from below. Seeing others happy warmed Hana’s heart. Her Kindness Pouch never became empty, because the more she gave, the fuller and more sparkling her pouch became.
The sun was slowly sinking on the horizon, and the sky was turning purple and orange. Hana, who had run and hopped all day, now felt a little tired. She set off toward her warm, soft home, which was under a big sunflower. The plain had sunk into a calm silence.
Hana stretched out on her petal-bed. She closed her eyes and thought about her friends’ smiles. Her Kindness Pouch was beside her, and a gentle light shone from it. Hana fell asleep peacefully, knowing that tomorrow would also be a day full of kindness and adventure. Good night, kind Hana!
