Deep in the blue, calm ocean, a little narwhal named “Niloufar” lived. Niloufar had a magical, pink-colored horn that sparkled like a sweet candy stick. She loved swimming among the gentle waves.
Niloufar’s best friend was a kind, golden fish named “Zari.” Zari had shiny scales that, when she laughed, filled all the water with glitter. Every day, they played hide-and-seek together.
Niloufar’s horn had a lovely secret. Whenever she thought of something good, her horn would start to glow. Today, Niloufar wished that the whole ocean would be filled with rainbow-colored bubbles.
They swam through purple seaweed until they reached a big shell. Inside the shell was a round, white pearl. Niloufar gently tapped the pearl with her magical horn.
Suddenly, instead of bubbles, thousands of tiny pink stars came out of the shell. Zari wagged her fins with happiness. She said, “Look, Niloufar! How dreamy the ocean has become!”
Now it was Zari’s turn to make a wish. Zari wished that she could dance with the kind sea mermaids. At that very moment, a few purple sea mermaids, who were like the lace on angels’ clothes, came closer.
Niloufar joined them too. Hand in hand (or fin in fin!), they spun and spun. With every movement, the sea mermaids gave off a gentle light that made the water bright.
When night came, Niloufar and Zari rose to the surface of the water to look at the sky. The silver moon shone in the sky, and its reflection fell on the small waves.
Niloufar’s horn caught the moonlight and turned it into a thousand shining pieces. The whole surface of the water, like a sequined dress, became bright and beautiful. The ocean was ready for sleep.
Niloufar lay down on a soft bed of pink moss. Zari settled calmly beside her. Niloufar closed her eyes and said to herself, “Tomorrow I’ll make beautiful wishes again.” Good night, kind ocean.
