At the edge of a green and peaceful forest, a little bear named “Pambé” lived. When Mrs. Sun went behind the mountains and the sky turned purple, Pambé understood that it was time for sleep. He smiled at the moon and said: “Hello, kind Moon! Is it time to rest?”
Pambé went over to the tulip flowers. The flowers were slowly closing their petals. In a very quiet voice, Pambé said: “Good night, colorful flowers! Sleep well so that tomorrow you can wake up again with the sun.”
Suddenly, a little firefly arrived with its tiny lamp. Pambé said to it: “My little friend, don’t get tired! Thank you for your beautiful light that shows me the way home.”
When Pambé reached his tree-house, he opened his wardrobe. He put on his prettiest pajamas, the ones with tiny glittering stars on them. His pajamas were so soft that he felt like he was wearing a piece of cloud.
Now it was time to brush his pearly teeth. Pambé stood in front of the mirror and brushed carefully. He winked at his reflection in the mirror and said: “Now my teeth shine like the stars in the sky!”
Pambé drank a cup of warm milk with a little honey. The warm drink made him feel calm. He felt his eyelids slowly getting heavy, and his eyes wanting to close.
Pambé went toward his big, soft bed. He pulled up his blanket, which his mother had woven with love, all the way up to his shoulders. His bed was the warmest and safest place in the world.
He hugged his little star doll. Pambé always slept with this doll. He whispered in his doll’s ear: “Good night, little Star, come, let’s go together to the land of sweet dreams.”
The room was completely quiet; only the sound of crickets could be heard from far away, singing a lullaby for Pambé. Pambé let out a big yawn and closed his eyes. The whole forest had sunk into a gentle silence.
In his dream, Pambé was flying on pink clouds and playing with kind angels. He knew that tomorrow morning, he would wake up with lots of energy and a heart full of joy. Good night, kind Pambé!
