Little Sila was a snail who had a pretty pink home. She loved bright, cheerful colors.
Every day, Sila looked at the flowers in the garden and said to herself, “I wish I could paint too and make the garden even more beautiful!”
Suddenly the sky filled with soft, cottony gray clouds. A gentle, light rain began to fall—tick, tick.
Sila wasn’t scared at all! She went under the shiny raindrops and smiled happily to herself. She loved the rain.
She slid along a big green leaf. Her whole body became colorful, and she left a trail of light and color on the leaf.
With the raindrops, Sila painted like a magical paintbrush. She turned the drops into shades of blue and purple.
Papi the butterfly came along and, surprised, looked at Sila’s painting and said, “Wow, Sila! You are so talented!”
With the help of the rain, Sila drew a yellow sun and a big blue heart on the leaf. Now the whole garden was full of color.
Kind Papi sat on the edge of the leaf, and together with Sila they looked at the beautiful sky and the rainbow. They were best friends.
The sun came out from behind the clouds. Sila’s rainy paintings sparkled in the sunlight, like colorful diamonds.
