Nian, the kind little boy, woke up one beautiful morning. He smiled and said hello to the yellow sun. The warm sunlight was shining through the window onto his bed.
He went to his little garden. The colorful flowers looked a bit tired. They were thirsty and had lowered their heads. The soil in the pots had become dry.
Nian ran and brought his magic watering can. This watering can was the color of the blue sky, and tiny golden stars sparkled on it. He was ready to help his sweet-smelling friends.
Suddenly, a golden butterfly named Pari sat on his shoulder. Pari said in a gentle voice: “Hello, Nian! Come, let’s water the flowers together so they can be happy again.”
Nian lifted the watering can. Drops of water like pearls fell onto the red flowers. Pari fluttered around Nian and beat her wings. Little by little, the flowers lifted their heads.
Now it was the turn of the yellow sunflowers. Nian sang a happy song for them. Cool drops of water danced on the green leaves, and the flowers swayed with joy.
Pari, with her beautiful wings, circled around the purple flowers. With every spin, she sprinkled shining, magical dust on the ground that filled the little garden with light.
The whole little garden filled with the sound of laughter. The flowers were not thirsty anymore. Nian and Pari danced together, and the flowers raised their leaves up toward the sky to hug the sun.
Nian was very happy. He saw that a small rainbow had formed above the flowers. What a magical and beautiful garden! With bright eyes, he looked at all that beauty.
The kind sun was setting. Nian and Pari sat beside the flowers to rest. All the flowers said together: “Thank you, little gardener boy!” And the whole garden fell into a sweet sleep.
