In a land whose sky was always lilac and pink, a kind little boy named Arvin lived. Arvin lived in a house made of soft, cottony clouds. Every night he would sit by the window and smile at the shining stars. Arvin was waiting for an old, magical friend who came to see him only at night.
Suddenly, a gentle breeze blew, and the scent of jasmine flowers filled the whole room. Anila—the Wind of Good Promises—arrived, wearing a cloak of light and a crown of sparkling little stars. Anila was like a trembling ribbon of rainbow that swirled around the room. Arvin happily opened his arms to hug his friend.
Anila, in a voice like silver bells, said: “Arvin, today my basket of promises is full of pearly seeds.” She showed Arvin a small basket woven from threads of sunlight. Inside the basket, tiny seeds were shining—each one a promise for a good and kind deed.
Arvin and Anila took flight together. They passed over mountains made of white chocolate and rivers that flowed with strawberry syrup. Arvin felt as if he had wings made of light. They reached the Plain of Wishes, a place where big, papery flowers swayed with every breath of wind.
Arvin put his hand into the basket and picked up a handful of pearly seeds. Carefully, he sprinkled the seeds onto the ground. He promised to always be kind to animals and to help his friends. With every seed that fell to the earth, a tiny star sprouted in the heart of the soil.
Anila spun and danced around a huge sunflower whose petals were made of silk. She showed Arvin how good promises could make the world more beautiful. With every turn, the kind wind spread a sweet, magical fragrance through the air, waking all the paper butterflies and making them flutter their wings.
Arvin and Anila sat together on a big petal. Arvin said: “I promise to have a heart full of love every day.” Anila gently wrapped around Arvin’s shoulders and gave him a pleasant warmth. In that beautiful silence, they listened to the sound of the moon singing.
It was time to go back. The sky was slowly turning dark blue, and the stars were becoming brighter. Arvin held a small lantern, and inside it one of those shining promise-seeds rested. This lantern lit his way back to the cloudy house.
Anila walked with Arvin all the way to the window of his room. With a soft gust, she kissed the little boy’s cheek and said: “Tomorrow night I will come back with new promises.” Arvin smiled and waved to his shining friend until she disappeared among the stars.
Arvin stretched out on his warm, soft bed. He closed his eyes and thought about the good promises he had made. He knew that tomorrow would be a day full of kindness. While the Wind of Good Promises sang him a lullaby behind the window, Arvin drifted off into a sweet, colorful sleep.
